Know Your Boutique, It'll Make a Difference
Posted on 23 April 2017
To start off I would like to say "hi". This post was inspired because I'm working with Pinterest in a marketing collaboration. Part of my "assignment" was to send over to them a brand styleguide. Not 100% sure what one was (I was thinking that it was probably a look book), I did a little research and found out that it's chock full of information about how a company develops and stays true to their voice- a.k.a. brand.
Quite honestly it was pretty fun to put together. It consisted of things like our website color scheme and typography, and it also consisted of more important information like what Avady values and brings to the table.
Here are some of the highlights to the styleguide:
Avady Clothing Company was established in June of 2015. We’re a family run boutique that prides itself on customer service and providing quality clothing. We operate out of New York. I am the owner and also a mother and a teacher. It is the busy schedule that I keep and the never ending search to find styles that are great for work and the weekends that brought about Avady. I realized that I am not the only one who dreads a spending time at the store instead of doing fun things with friends and family. I want to help women in similar situations prioritize themselves a little in the chaos of a typical woman’s life.
When curating the collection, we look for styles that are feminine, classic, and comfortable. With typical lengths on the conservative side, Avady offers styles that one could wear to work then dress down on the weekends. Avady works with various designers from the Fashion District and mostly stays in a neutral palette that offers more flexibility when styling.
Avady’s mission is to provide its clients with the best customer service and clothing that works for many situations. Being a family owned business, we understand the value of time. That’s why we try to make the process effortless. The clothing is intended to be affordable because, as we all know, women tend to take care of themselves last, and price is always an issue. We want to provide women with styles that make them look forward to leaving the house and making memories.
What we want you to know:
This part isn't in the styleguide, but I think that it's important that you know that we aren't some big, overseas company that will take weeks to send you your purchase. We aren't planning on a single sale from you then we're going to just walk away.
We want to be the online boutique that has the small town feel but the convenience of shopping from the couch. It's where I do most of my shopping (it's also where I'm writing this post right now). I like watching my kids have fun playing instead of me giving them the death eye in the store because they're not standing next to me. Shopping from home is stress free- especially when free shipping is offered.
Is free shipping the only bonus?
We try to send a little treat with our orders. Isn't it nice to get a little surprise when you order something? We want to know that every time one of our clients opens her package, she knows that she's appreciated.
Each package is inspected before sending out, and we send out our orders, free of charge, within 24 hours. Don't like that piece of clothing on? We pay for returns, too. The return just needs to be placed in the mailbox with the return label that we email to you (you need to email us to get the label), if need be. I'm a shopper (much to my husband's frustration), and I run Avady with the same expectations I have as a customer.
So what's next?
Not sure. You may click out of here and never think about Avady again. That's ok. You may decide to order some cute clothing and see what happens. That's great, too. I just know that, in a time of so many phony companies that don't deliver and hijack your money, it might be nice to know who it is you'll shop with: it's a family of 4 who work crazy hard at making memories for us and you.
My daughter's birthday party.
Thanks for your time!
