A Shopper's Dream: The FAME show
Posted on 14 January 2016
First, I have to admit, when I go to the FAME show, I am constantly playing the lyrics, "Fame, I'm gonna live forever..." in my head- who wouldn't. I'm not going to lie, one of the biggest perks of owning a boutique is the ability to see the clothing that is coming out this season. While it can be a little overwhelming with so many designers to choose from, it can introduce a boutique owner to awesome new labels and people. I'll let you know what I noticed (or was drawn to) the most.
OMG, I cannot tell you how many light sweaters I saw for this spring- and they were G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S! I wanted to bring home a bundle right then and there (which you can't by the way). Beautiful pastels and creams with light taupes fill many of the booths.
Backs Are Huge:
Ha, as I read that heading I imagine a ginormous back. That's not what I mean. There has been a movement since last year for sure where the back is concerned. It is no longer being ignored. From lace and zippers to sans material, designers are coming up with different ways to bring the eyes to what ya got going on in the back.
Moto won't go:
The moto style pants are still here. Thank goodness, I love them. It is just like the design on the backs- it adds texture and personality to pants.
I have seen the v neck with what looks like lacing going up to the top of the shirt. It looks great and can be addictive. From casual cotton dresses to dressier tops, it is the way to go.
Bohemian style certainly rocked the show. It was in shirts and dresses galore. Beautiful embroidery and billowy tops. I am psyched about this because Bohemian is by far my favorite style because of its feminine lines.
While this isn't every trend that I saw being displayed, these were the ones that I gravitated to. I hope that everyone loves what's coming for the spring and summer collections because I sure am.
Feel free to comment about what you are looking forward to most because, let's be honest, it isn't about me, it's about you and what you want to wear.
